Safe-HCL - (1 Gallon, 3.78 Liter) Synthetic Hydrochloric / Muriatic Acid Replacement, Non-Corrosive to Skin

Non-corrosive to skin, unlike muriatic acid. Safe-HCL is a modified acid made to replace muriatic (hydrochloric) acid for cleaning jobs around the house, garage and workshop. It is still an acid and may irritate skin, so always wear gloves and eye protection.

• Warning (SDS): May be corrosive to metals. Harmful if inhaled. Causes serious eye irritation. Wear eye protection and chemical-resistant gloves, use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, and read the Safety Data Sheet before use.
• Real cleaning power: at full strength it dissolves calcium carbonate deposits about as well as 15% hydrochloric acid (manufacturer lab data). Use full strength or dilute 1 part to 1-4 parts water. Always add acid to water.
• Built for DIY jobs: calcium crust on seashells, rust on steel tools and parts, motorcycle and car exhaust headers, and concrete or masonry haze. Do not use on aluminum, zinc, galvanized or magnesium parts.
• Low-fuming compared with straight muriatic acid (less hydrogen chloride vapor at room temperature) and readily biodegradable (OECD 301E), per manufacturer data. Vapors are still harmful if inhaled, so keep the area ventilated.
• Sized for bigger jobs: one gallon makes up to 4 gallons of working solution at 1 part Safe-HCL to 3 parts water, which suits larger soaks, header batches and concrete work.

How to use (always add acid to water; mix in glass or HDPE plastic):

• Seashells: full strength for a quick 3-5 second dip, or 1 part Safe-HCL to 1-2 parts water for a longer soak. Check often and re-dip as needed.
• Rust on steel tools and parts: full strength or 1 part to 1-2 parts water. Brush on or soak.
• Motorcycle and car exhaust headers (steel): full strength or 1 part to 1-2 parts water.
• Concrete and masonry haze: 3-6 oz of Safe-HCL per gallon of water.

When you are done, neutralize with water and baking soda, then rinse. Spot-test first and do not leave parts unattended. Do not use on aluminum, zinc, galvanized or magnesium parts: they react and give off flammable hydrogen gas. Store used solution in a labeled HDPE container, separate from fresh product. Keep out of reach of children.
